Foxconn is all set to build the world’s largest manufacturing hub for Nvidia. The announcement was made during Foxconn’s annual tech day. On October 8, in Taipei, Benjamin Ting, Foxconn senior vice president for the cloud enterprise solutions business group, announced this collaborative initiative.

According to Reuters, the partnership with Nvidia for manufacturing its chip will help to meet the high demand for Nvidia’s next-gen computing platform. Also, this could mean that Nvidia might expand its artificial intelligence (AI) powered hardware sector.

According to Benjamin Ting, Foxconn will help Nvidia to manufacture Nvidia’s GB200 superchips in Mexico. This collaboration was much needed for the development of both the companies, Ting explained. The new manufacturing hub will produce the main component of  Blackwell which is the GB200 superchip. Please note that Blackwell is Nvidia’s in-house advanced computing platform.

As of now the exact plan of the manufacturing hub is not known, but Foxconn claims it to be ‘huge and one of the first’ manufacturing plants. However, as reported by a  Mexican government source, the plant would be built in the city of Guadalajara.

Nvidia had already started shipping samples of Blackwell to some of its partners in August. It is expected that the chip can bring a huge sum of revenue if supplied on a large scale. On top of that, Foxconn’s contribution can bring an AI revolution.

Getting AI ready

As the world is accepting artificial intelligence (AI) on a large scale, companies need to cope up with that. Apparently, there is a need for superchips that could support such advanced technologies. So, to fill up this need Foxconn is helping Nvidia to facilitate the demands. Also Foxconn is planning to capitalize on the rising AI market. With the rising demand for AI servers, Foxconn seems to be booming. According to a report passed on last Saturday, the company saw a highest-ever rise in its third quarter revenue.

This is not the first time that Foxconn is gaining all eyeballs. Foxconn already has a huge presence in Mexico. Notably, Foxconn has been one of the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturers. Also, till now it has invested about $500 million to date in the state of Chihuahua. Additionally, in August the Karnataka government had announced that Foxconn plans to invest about Rs 25,000 crore to build a large manufacturing facility near Dodda Ballapur.

It is also known as Apple’s biggest iPhone assembler. The support for making future-ready super chips can also add to its already gained fame. Furthermore, “We’re building the largest GB200 production facility on the planet – I don’t think I can say where now,” Ting highlighted.
