Synology unveils storage, surveillance solutions at Computex 2025

Synology debuts new enterprise storage and cloud-based video surveillance solutions at Computex 2025. Featuring PAS7700, PAS3600, and C2 Surveillance, the offerings target high-performance, scalable deployments across sectors like defence and aerospace. India launch slated for late 2025.

Taiwan-based data storage firm Synology unveiled a new line-up of products across enterprise solutions and video surveillance at the Computex 2025 here on Wednesday.

These new products will be available in India as part of their global roll-out in the second half of 2025, company officials said.

The new solutions, especially in enterprise storage, mark a significant step-up for Synology’s capabilities in handling high-performance, mission-critical workloads and large-scale enterprise storage solutions. User industries will include aerospace, defence and government which require hardware to handle high-speed data, the firm said.

Featuring two models — the PAS7700 and PAS3600 — the enterprise storage series by Synology aims to cater to both primary and secondary storage needs with a clear focus on uptime, scalability, and performance. “By combining our deep software and hardware development expertise in close collaboration with partners and enterprise customers, we have engineered PAS7700 to deliver ultra-high performance,” the company said.

The PAS3600, meanwhile, is optimised for secondary workloads including performing tasks such as file storage, backups, and block storage —where cost-effectiveness is key. Both PAS7700 and PAS3600 run on Synology’s operating system, which is designed for always-on uptime. This includes non-disruptive firmware updates, intelligent load balancing, and software-defined failover to ensure that updates or maintenance don’t impact ongoing operations.

The video surveillance solution called C2 Surveillance, on the other hand, is designed to provide a server-less, fast-to-deploy and disruptive cloud monitoring with multi-site scalability.

“Our goal is to build a comprehensive surveillance ecosystem that enables seamless integration and management for our customers,” Josh Lin, director of Synology’s Surveillance Group, said.

With the addition of C2 Surveillance, clients can deploy their solutions on-premise or in the cloud, depending on their unique requirement, he added.

The company said that the C2 Surveillance could be used by businesses of all sizes and could also bring new sites online quickly without specialised training. It also had AI-powered detection and could be used in areas or environments with bandwidth constraints. It could also enable local monitoring when disconnected from the internet.

Tech majors such as Intel, Nvidia, Qualcomm, and Apple are among the firms participating in Computex — a global tech exhibition held annually in Taipei — this year.

While most products including that of Synology will be available to customers later this calendar year, most firms use Computex to showcase their tech prowess to the world.
