Rockstar Games, months ahead of the release of GTA 6, one of the most anticipated games on the planet, has updated its website. The gaming giant silently updated the homepage of their website without any official announcement. Although there were no new GTA 6-related announcements, fans were quick to notice the changes, and the internet soon became flooded with images of the new layout.

The homepage of the website now has a sleek, modern look. This includes a fast-moving carousel that displays game logos. It also has two clickable chips. The carousel opens with GTA VI’s second trailer and also shows new artwork. A link to the “Explore Leondia” page is included. Leonida is the fictional world setting in Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6), based on the US state of Florida, and will be the main setting of the upcoming game.

With these updates, there is a new wave of excitement among fans and enthusiasts, since there are some rumours already floating the possibility of the release of a third trailer in the coming month. However, with all the leaks and rumours surrounding other aspects of the game, here is everything one needs to know about GTA 6 in advance, including the expected price and the supported consoles.

GTA 6 release date

GTA 6 is expected to be released in May 2026 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. A PC version is likely to follow later, as has been the strategy for previous GTA games that Rockstar has released. While industry experts and analysts predict that GTA 6 will run at 30 FPS as standard on the PS5 and Xbox consoles, some leaks have hinted at the possibility of a 60 fps gameplay experience limited exclusively to the beefier PS5 Pro console.

GTA 6 plot

After GTA 5 introduced the concept of three simultaneously playable protagonists, GTA 6 will reportedly feature two main protagonists, a first for the franchise. The characters, a male and female duo named Jason and Lucia, are rumoured to have a Bonnie and Clyde-style romantic relationship, giving the narrative a new dynamic. These protagonists will lead us through their lives and stories in a modernised version of Vice City, which first appeared in GTA: Vice City Stories, and will be part of a larger new state called Leonida, a fictional take on Florida.

GTA 6: Gameplay

Every version of GTA has always focused on realism and player immersion while keeping the gameplay fun with arcade-style elements. For GTA 6, Rockstar Games could be utilising a new and improved physics system and enhanced vehicle mechanics to make the overall experience richer. The game is also expected to have more realistic police chases with improved AI for non-playable characters (NPCs) and a refined wanted system.

In-game actions, such as shopping or interacting with items, are rumoured to be more manual, requiring player input rather than being automated. This suggests that Rockstar is aiming to create a world that’s more deliberate and interactive for players to explore.

GTA 6: Expected price

While no official pricing has been announced yet, leaks suggest that the game’s standard edition could be priced around $100 (approximately Rs 8,700) internationally, with special editions costing even more. For PC players, the game is expected to have demanding system requirements due to its cutting-edge graphics and physics.

As of now, Rockstar Games has only confirmed support for the Sony PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. No PC release date and system requirements have been revealed as of yet.
