What exactly is the Jio Choice Number?
The Jio Choice Number is a personalisation service that lets you pick a mobile number series of your liking when you subscribe to a “JioPlus Postpaid plan.” These plans start at Rs 349 for an individual and Rs 449 for a family plan.
Imagine having a mobile number that’s not just a random string of digits but something meaningful, memorable, and uniquely yours. Whether you’re looking to impress with a fancy sequence or want a number that feels more personal, Jio’s seemingly got you covered.
This service is available across India, so no matter where you are, you can give your mobile number a personal touch. On its website, Jio mentions that there’s no restriction on the type of number you can choose. It could be anything from your birthdate, anniversary, or even your favourite number (provided it’s not already taken).
How to get your Jio Choice Number?
Getting your hands on a Jio Choice Number appears to be a straightforward process. You can do it through the MyJio app or through Jio’s website. Here’s a quick guide on how to make it happen.
Via MyJio app:
- Open the MyJio app: If you haven’t already, download and install the MyJio app from your preferred app store.
- Navigate to the menu: Click on the menu section and select the chosen number.
- Book your number: Tap on ‘Let’s book now’ and enter your name, PIN Code, and the digits you’d like your number to include (up to 4-5 digits).
- Choose from the available list: Jio will show you a list of numbers that match your criteria. Select the one you like best.
- Pay and confirm: Complete the booking by paying a nominal fee of Rs 499. The number will be delivered to you at no extra cost.
Via Jio.com website:
- Visit Jio.com: Head over to the official Jio website.
- Verify your existing number: Enter your current Jio number, verify it with an OTP, and then proceed.
- Enter your preferences: Add your name, PIN Code, and preferred digits, and then click on ‘Show available numbers.’
- Select and pay: Choose from the list of available numbers, click on ‘Proceed,’ and complete the payment process.
Important to note
After you’ve booked your choice number, you’ll receive a confirmation message along with a validity date. Make sure to activate your number on a JioPlus Postpaid plan before this date to avoid cancellation. If you miss the deadline, your booking will be cancelled, and unfortunately, the booking fee will be forfeited.
Can you book multiple Jio Choice Numbers?
As long as the desired numbers are available within your PIN Code, you can book multiple Jio Choice Numbers. However, due to regulatory requirements, you’ll need to register each number individually, Jio adds.
