Realme 14 Pro Series 5G claims 2x better camera performance than Redmi Note 14 lineup: Details

Realme steals Redmi’s thunder again.

Realme 13 Pro series India launch
Both Realme 13 Pro series phones have the same look and feel.

Realme steals Redmi’s thunder again. On the same day, Xiaomi launched its illustrious new Redmi Note lineup phones, the Oppo spin-off announced its own competing series—Realme Realme 14 Pro Series 5G—claiming 2x better camera performance and more.

For those keeping track, the Redmi Note 14 phones have launched a bit earlier than their predecessors. Getting an early head start over competitors could be a reason but another possibility is that Xiaomi wanted Muralikrishnan B, the company’s current president, to have one last hurrah before he steps down from his role at the end of 2024. Murali is revered in tech circles and the sign-off couldn’t be more befitting for his stature.

Realme 14 Pro Series 5G: What we know so far

Anyhow, as luck would have it, even the Realme 14 Pro Series is launching way ahead of schedule.  The Realme 13 Pro phones were launched in July 2024. The Realme 13 models followed in August. Remember, Realme has been on a launch spree this year, the latest being the Realme GT 7 Pro, its priciest, most ambitious phone to date. Clearly, the brand is looking to end the year on a high and by the looks of it, it’s bringing its A-game to the mid-range smartphone space.

It’s good to see the periscope telephoto camera sticking around after making a big debut on the 13 Pro Plus. If anything, Realme seems to be prepping an even better upgrade boldly claiming that its 14 Pro series is twice as good as the Redmi Note 14 lineup in camera performance.

The Realme 14 Pro Series is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, the same chipset that’s inside the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus. But while the Redmi Note 14 Pro makes do with a MediaTek, Realme may launch both the Pro and Pro Plus phones with the same hardware (looking at the Realme 13 Pro phones).

Realme says the series features an advanced periscope camera and AI-based image stabilisation technology that works in tandem with OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation). This combination reduces blurring from hand movements, delivering sharper and more stable images, especially in night photography or video shooting. Even old, low-resolution photos taken with less advanced cameras can be enhanced by AI Ultra Clarity to achieve stunning quality.

More details, including the exact date of launch, are awaited. Stay tuned for more.
