Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined WhatsApp Channels yesterday, and the channel has crossed 2 million users already. At the time of writing, Narendra Modi’s WhatsApp channel boasts about 2,00,203 followers on the Meta’s social media and messaging platform.
This figure will likely inch upward in the coming days, all thanks to his amassing popularity over social media. His account on X, formerly Twitter has over 91.8 million followers.

He announced the joining of WhatsApp channels on X writing, “Started my WhatsApp Channel today. Looking forward to remaining connected through this medium!”, followed by a link to his WhatsApp channel. He is notably the most followed politician on X, after former and 44th President of India Barack Obama. In terms of most followers on Twitter in the political diaspora, he stands above the 45th President of the United States Donald Trump. The latter two aren’t in an active position.

How to join PM Modi’s WhatsApp Channel?
- Make sure to update WhatsApp via Google Play Store or iOS’s App Store.
- Locate “Find Channels” on the bottom side of the screen.
- There could be a list of channels, including several celebrities like Katrina Kaif, Akshay Kumar, Indian Cricket Team, and more. Look for Narendra Modi’s channel or manually search it.
- Tap the “+” (plus) icon and be a part of his WhatsApp channel where his team provides updates.
Meta-owned WhatsApp recently pushed an integration to its messaging platform. Channels comes as a one-way broadcast tool and claims that others won’t know if you join any WhatsApp channels, and your name or identity will not be visible to other followers. However, the admin can see your full name, but your phone number remains private.
