Poco has done it again. The Poco X6 Neo launched in India today undercuts yet another Xiaomi Redmi phone boasting of similar specs at lower prices. The Poco X6 Neo is basically a Redmi Note 13 (Redmi Note 13R Pro from China). The big difference is that the Poco X6 Neo costs Rs 5,000 less.

The Poco X6 Neo has the exact same specifications as the Redmi Note 13. It has the same 6.67-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and hole punch cut-out at the centre, the same MediaTek Dimensity 6080 processor and the same 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. For photography, it has a dual camera setup on the rear headlined by a 108-megapixel primary sensor while on the front, it has a 16-megapixel selfie shooter— again, same as the Redmi Note 13.

The similarities unfortunately extend to software as well which is to say that the Poco X6 Neo is also running the older MIUI 14 based on Android 13. Poco is committing to two major OS and four years of security updates.

The design is a little different from the Redmi Note 13 sold in India but virtually identical to the China-exclusive Redmi Note 13R Pro which it is loosely based on. The phone has a plastic back and a plastic frame and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protecting the screen. IP54 splash resistant is available. The rest of the package includes — 5G, dual SIM, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, headphone jack, and a mono speaker out.

Poco has launched the Poco X6 Neo in a choice of 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB memory trims for Rs 15,999 and Rs 17,999, respectively. General availability is pegged for March 18. The phone will be available in orange, blue, and black colours.
