OnePlus launched the highly anticipated OnePlus Nord 4 at its Summer Launch Event in Milan, Italy, today. The Chinese smartphone company is marketing it as the “only metal unibody device in the 5G era.” The real kicker though is the extended software support. OnePlus is committing to four years of major OS and up to six years of security updates—the first for any OnePlus phone to date.
Hardware-wise, the Nord 4 boasts a capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 processor and a large 5,500mAh battery with 100W fast charging. It has a 50-megapixel primary camera with a Sony LYT-600 sensor and a 16-megapixel camera for selfies. Catching on the AI hype-train, OnePlus has also incorporated a bunch of smart features in the phone to enhance productivity and photography.
The OnePlus Nord 4 has a starting price of Rs 29,999. General availability is pegged for August 2.
Now, the full low-down:
OnePlus Nord 4: Metal unibody design
The OnePlus Nord 4 stands out with its metal unibody design, measuring a slim 7.99mm and made from a single piece of aluminum milled to exacting standards. This design choice is a nod to past smartphones, like the OnePlus 3T, which were built from metal, OnePlus says. The company claims to have leveraged technological advancements to create compact 5G antennas that are over 50 percent smaller and redesigned motherboards for better signal clarity on 5G networks. These innovations have allowed OnePlus to bring back metal construction in smartphones.

The OnePlus Nord 4 is available in three colour variants: Obsidian Midnight with a brushed gunmetal finish, Mercurial Silver with a 2D laser-etched design, and Oasis Green with a two-tone colour scheme.
OnePlus Nord 4: Hardware
The OnePlus Nord 4 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 chip. The device comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of storage. Powering the phone is a 5,500mAh battery, the largest ever in a Nord phone, with 100W fast charging. OnePlus claims the phone can charge from 1-100 percent in just 28 minutes and offers 5 hours of Netflix viewing with a 5-minute charge.
The display is a 6.7-inch 1.5K AMOLED with 120Hz refresh rate and up to 2,150 nits of peak brightness.
