Soon after the launch of OnePlus 5T back in November last year, speculation had begun around the next device from OnePlus. After multiple information leaks about the next OnePlus device, a photograph has surfaced which gives a preview of what the OnePlus 6 may look like. The leak has set one thing straight, Apple iPhone has a strong influence on the rest of the smartphones. As per the leak, OnePlus 6 is expected to have a notch on the top of the screen just like the iPhone X. But the notch on the OnePlus will be smaller.
The leaked photograph has come from a Chinese technology blog called the ITHome on Tuesday. As per claims made by them, the photograph is of the next OnePlus 6 flagship smartphone. Other than the notch, the OnePlus 6 is expected to have a glass front and a glass back. That means the next iteration of the smartphone may facilitate wireless charging feature. The other noticeable change that can be seen is the camera placement. OnePlus 6 is likely to have a vertical dual camera set up. On OnePlus 5T, the camera placement is a horizontal one that too on the top of the phone. OnePlus 6 may have the camera in the center.
With the iPhone X-type notch on the top of the phone, the next phone from OnePlus is likely to have bezel-less display. The report further claims that the OnePlus 6 will have a model number P7819. Among other specification mentioned in the report are 6 GB RAM and 64 GB inbuilt memory and will run on Android 8.1 Oreo. Since the source of the blog is not verified, not much can be further said about the phone and we might have to take the report with a pinch of salt. What we can expect is that the smartphone will likely have the latest and powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC.
OnePlus founder and CEO Pete Lau had earlier said that confirmed OnePlus’s next phone will come out in Q2 of 2018. As of now, we have to wait and see what the next flagship from OnePus has to offer.
