Smartphone maker OnePlus recently launch OnePlus 13s in the Indian market. And now, a OnePlus 13s user took to Reddit to share a troubling experience with their device — the appearance of a green line on the screen. Interestingly, the issue didn’t arise following any software update.

According to the user, the phone was purchased just a few days ago, and the green line first appeared on the left side of the display shortly after. Although it vanished on its own without any action, the same problem resurfaced later and disappeared only after a reboot.

Suspecting a deeper issue, the user documented the glitch with photos and videos for reference and evidence.

“We understand such situations can be frustrating for users, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to customer satisfaction. Upon learning of the post, our service team promptly reached out to the user through multiple channels to provide swift support and resolution. Our R&D team is awaiting the device for a thorough examination, and we are committed to sharing transparent findings once the root cause is identified,” the company responds.

The staff quickly pointed out that his video evidence didn’t display the phone’s IMEI number:

According to the user, the staff quickly pointed out that his video evidence didn’t display the phone’s IMEI number, raising doubts about its validity. After nearly two hours of diagnostics and log collection, the service personnel advised him to keep using the phone and observe whether the green line reappears.

When the user asked about the course of action after the 15-day replacement window expires, the response was far from reassuring. He was told that no further assistance would be possible under the policy, and he might have to bear the cost of replacing the display on his newly purchased OnePlus 13s.

In 2024, OnePlus rolled out a lifetime screen replacement program:

In 2024, OnePlus rolled out a lifetime screen replacement program specifically for green line defects, known as the OnePlus Green Line Worry-Free Solution. This initiative was aimed at tackling growing concerns over green line problems commonly seen in smartphones with AMOLED panels.

Under this policy, users facing such issues are eligible for free display replacements. However, in practice, the repair process has proven to be less seamless than anticipated.

Following recent concerns raised online, OnePlus responded by labeling the matter as a rare, isolated case that has already been fully resolved in coordination with the affected customer. Notably, the original Reddit thread discussing the issue has since been deleted by the user.
