OnePlus 12 series launches officially in India today at OnePlus smooth beyond belief event. This is a global launch, India included, where OnePlus will unveil to the world its flagship phone called OnePlus 12, a relatively less expensive phone called the OnePlus 12R and OnePlus Buds 3 wireless earbuds. Each of these products has already been launched in OnePlus’s home market China under same or different names (the OnePlus 12R for example is called OnePlus Ace 3 in China). And so, their hardware shenanigans are known in advance giving us a rough idea at least of what to expect.
The OnePlus 12 will replace the OnePlus 11 with an upgraded chip, bigger battery and wireless charging, among other things. The OnePlus 12R will replace the OnePlus 11R and is in fact looking like an even bigger catch especially considering how fantastic its predecessor has been in terms of value proposition.

OnePlus 12 series will launch globally on January 23 at OnePlus smooth beyond belief event. While OnePlus is hosting an in-person event in the National Capital to launch the OnePlus 12 series, a live stream will be available for view round the world on the company’s official YouTube channel. OnePlus 12, 12R smooth beyond belief event: Watch OnePlus 12 series, Buds 3 what to expect
The OnePlus 12 is expected to come with a 6.82-inch 2K or 1440p LTPO AMOLED display with a peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits. OnePlus has put its rainwater touch technology –to be called aqua touch in India— into the panel. The phone is IP65 rated. Powering the OnePlus 12 will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 along with a 5,400mAh battery with 100W fast wired and 50W wireless charging.
For photography, the OnePlus 12 will come with a triple camera setup with a 50-megapixel main Sony LYT-808 sensor, 48-megapixel Sony IMX581 sensor behind an ultrawide lens and another 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B sensor behind a 3x periscope telephoto lens, a setup similar to the OnePlus Open. On the front, the OnePlus 12 will have a 32-megapixel selfie shooter.
The OnePlus 12R meanwhile is expected to be a rebranded OnePlus Ace 3 in which case it will come with a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness and support for Dolby Vision playback. Powering the phone will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and what is being billed as the biggest battery on any OnePlus phone to date— this will be 5,500mAh. The phone will support 100W fast charging.
For photography, it will come with a triple camera setup headlined by a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 main sensor behind an optically stabilised lens, paired to an 8-megapixel ultrawide and another 2-megapixel macro. On the front, it will have a 16MP camera for selfies.
The OnePlus Buds 3 are an alternate take on the OnePlus Buds 2 Pro featuring a similar design and featuring LHDC5.0 support.
