Nothing Phone 2 is getting a Rs 5,000 discount and so Nothing’s first truly flagship phone now starts at under Rs 40,000. Nothing says the price drop reaffirms its commitment to making cutting-edge technology accessible, even if it’s coming five months after launch. In addition, it’s also offering its relatively newer CMF 65W GaN charger at a “special” price of Rs 1,999 to Phone 2 buyers, Rs 1,000 lower than its original pricing, for a limited time until stocks last that is. The Phone 2 comes without any charger in the box.
The Phone 2 was launched in July at a starting price of Rs 44,999 for a version with 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage. The phone’s 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB models cost Rs 49,999 and Rs 54,999 at launch. Post the price cut, the Phone 2 now comes in at Rs 39,999 (8GB/128GB), Rs 44,999 (12GB/256GB) and Rs 49,999 (12GB/512GB). Some would argue, this is the price the Phone 2 should have launched at in the first place. Nothing’s known to alter prices from time to time so we can’t say for sure yet, if the discount on Phone 2 is permanent. But hopefully it is.
The Phone 2 makes a case for itself by packing respectable –not the latest— hardware and stock-ish Android software inside a head-turner— but polarizing— see-through design. But competition like the OnePlus 11R and iQOO Neo 7 Pro provide better value while some like the OnePlus Nord 3 get you a lot of smartphone for a lot less money. Nothing’s own Phone 1, which has received multiple price cuts since launch, is a good buy for someone who wants to get acquainted with Nothing’s philosophy before taking the leap. The latest price cut on the Phone 2 does make that leap a bit more doable.
