At one time, Honor phones were quite popular in the Indian market. They were known for their practical value, features and built-in quality. Then came the great retreat. Now with Honor X9c, the brand is once again making a comeback in the mid-range market that has a lot of players jostling to gain market share. The phone is an affordable option that comes in a single configuration of 8GB + 256GB, priced at Rs 21,999. It offers a clean user experience with a stock Android interface and decent battery life. What I liked the most is its reliable performance.
Design and Display That Impresses
The X9c has a slim titanium design that is pleasing to the eye. It has an IP65 rating for dust and splash resistance. There is anti-drop technology 2.0, also known as Honor Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Display. This is a feature designed to enhance a smartphone’s durability and resistance to damage from accidental drops. There’s also an in-display fingerprint scanner and dual-SIM 5G connectivity.
The phone features a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display. It is sharp, bright and smooth thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate. The screen also supports 3,840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, a technique used to control the brightness by rapidly switching the power on and off at a specific frequency. Simply put, it’s safe on the eyes.
This Honor handset runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, delivering smooth user experience for gaming, multitasking and general app usage. It is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone is quite slick on the software side. There is Android 15 out of the box with MagicOS 9 on top. The user interface is visually appealing and is easy to use. The device packs a 6,600mAh battery, which is expected to offer up to two days of usage. To top it off, there’s 66W fast charging.
The X9c has a dual rear camera (108MP+5MP) setup for sharp photos. Frankly speaking, you have a pretty decent device for point-and-shoot photography. There’s also a 16MP camera on the front for selfies and video calls. The phone supports 4K video recording from the rear camera. The camera results for both the rear and front snapper are good.
If you want a nice mid-range phone that handles almost all the fundamentals well, the Honor X9c will find an easy recommendation.
