Days after Apple’s mega iPhone launch event, Meta and Ray-Ban came together to unveil the next step in wearable augmented reality gear. The Meta Ray-Ban Display is the evolution of the Meta Ray-Ban glasses, adding the luxury of a full colour display within the lens. The idea is to try and fuse the digital interface with reality, keeping the user informed while staying connected with the world. This comes alongside redesigned Meta Ray-Ban Gen 2 glasses, which continues to improve the idea of simpler AI glasses.
Unveiled by Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the Meta Ray-Ban Display relies on Meta’s software platform and tries to bring more people on board the Meta ecosystem without doing a conventional smartphone, like Apple. Meta is asking $799 for the Ray-Ban Display.
Considered a technological marvel, it might be obvious for most of you to buy this in India. So, how do you get your hands on the new Meta Ray-Ban Display in India and whether it is worth buying over the outgoing Meta Ray-Ban AI glasses – that’s what we are about to find out.
Meta Ray-Ban Display AI glasses: How to buy in India

The Meta Ray-Ban Display, which comes bundled with the Meta Neural Band, has been listed in the US at a price of $799 and will be on sale from September 30. Meta, however, is only selling the device in the US market as of now.
Meta and Ray-Ban have clarified that US will be the only market to get the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses this year. Starting early next year, Meta will bring the Ray-Ban Display glasses to Canada, France, Italy, and the UK. Although the full list of countries hasn’t been published yet, India could be one of the few countries to get access sometime late next year, considering the previous generation AI glasses are still on sale here.
Hence, if you reside in India and want to get your hands on the Meta Ray-Ban Display, there are two ways for you to follow:
– Wait for Ray-Ban to launch it in India.
– Import it from the US store, or ask a friend in the US to buy and bring it along to India.
How much could Meta Ray-Ban Display cost in India
Considering the price tag of $799, Ray-Ban could sell it in India at a price of approximately Rs 80,000. Note that the prices could be higher considering additional import taxes and the varying tariff situation between India and US. Whenever the launch happens, consumers could buy it potentially from Ray-Ban’s online stores as well as authorised retailers.
Meta Ray-Ban design and colours
For the time being, Meta Ray-Ban Display is being sold in a single design, which seems inspired by Ray-Ban’s Wayfarer lineup. The Display and the wristband is available in Black and Sand colourways. The glasses feature Transitions lenses, which means you can wear them inside and outside, regardless of day and night. The portable and collapsable charging case offers up to 30 hours of batery stamina.
Meta Ray-Ban Display vs the original Meta Ray-Ban: What’s new?

The Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses feature a high-resolution screen within the right lens that can show information such as text messages, photo previews, and real-time translations. This display is designed for quick, subtle interactions without obstructing the user’s view of the world. The Meta Neural Band wristband uses electromyography (EMG) to detect and interpret “barely perceptible movements” of the user’s hand and fingers. This allows for intuitive, hands-free control of the glasses, which is a departure from traditional touch or voice-based commands.
The new glasses also integrate advanced AI capabilities, allowing them to provide step-by-step instructions with visuals, deliver real-time answers to questions, and offer pedestrian navigation with a visual map. Other features include hands-free messaging, two-way video calling, live captioning, and enhanced audio with a five-microphone array for superior call quality and immersive sound recording.
