The iPhone 17 lineup for this year is expected to feature four models: the standard iPhone 17, a sleek and ultra-slim variant called the iPhone 17 Air, along with the high-end iPhone 17 Pro and the top-tier iPhone 17 Pro Max. Over the weekend, a wave of leaks surfaced regarding the iPhone 17 Pro’s camera system—one of the most intriguing being the possibility of a movable telephoto lens. When it comes to pricing, the iPhone 17 lineup might see a $50 increase per model in the U.S.—with the exception of the standard iPhone 17. This projection comes from Jefferies analyst Edison Lee, who suggests a potential price adjustment across the range.

iPhone 17 Pto and iPhone 17 Pro Max launch date:

The Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max is anticipated to be unveiled in September alongside other new products. While Apple has not confirmed the exact dates, leaks suggest the iPhone 17 lineup could be announced on either September 8 or 9, with retail availability beginning around September 19.

iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max price:

At present, the iPhone 16 Pro carries a starting price of $999 before taxes, suggesting that the iPhone 17 Pro could debut at around $1,049. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is priced at $1,199, which may indicate a possible $1,249 starting price for the iPhone 17 Pro Max. As for the rumored iPhone 17 Slim, its cost remains unconfirmed. However, it’s anticipated to fall somewhere between the base model and the Pro variants, though the precise pricing is still unknown.

iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max camera:

\Apple's upcoming iPhone 17 Pro is rumored to place a strong emphasis on enhanced photography features. One of the standout upgrades is said to be a revamped telephoto lens that offers up to 8× optical zoom—a significant leap from the anticipated 5× zoom on the iPhone 16 Pro series. Another possible hardware change includes the addition of a dedicated Camera Control button along the top edge of the device. This new control would complement the existing camera button found on the lower-right side of the iPhone 16 models, allowing users faster and more convenient access to various camera tools and settings.

The forthcoming iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are rumored to introduce an all-new "Pro" camera app designed specifically for advanced photography and video recording. This revamped software aims to compete with well-known third-party apps like Halide, Filmic Pro, and Kino. However, it’s still uncertain whether this new application will remain exclusive to the iPhone 17 Pro lineup or be made available across other iPhone models as well.

iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max design:

The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to retain their screen sizes of 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively—matching those of the current iPhone 16 Pro Max. Speculation about a fresh color variant emerged in April when known leaker Majin Bu (not to be confused with the Dragon Ball Z character) shared on Twitter that Apple might introduce a sky blue finish for both Pro models. A May report from 9to5Mac further indicated that the iPhone 17 Pro lineup could be slightly thicker, measuring 8.725mm in depth, compared to the 8.25mm thickness of the iPhone 16 Pro. This increase in thickness may allow space for a larger battery.

Apple is reportedly planning to unveil a new dual-texture design for its 2025 Pro iPhones, blending an all-aluminum frame and camera module with a glass segment that remains in place to enable functionalities such as MagSafe, wireless charging, and data transmission. Additionally, rumors indicate the Apple logo might be relocated to sit within the glass area, rather than being centered on the full rear surface.
