Apple is anticipated to formally introduce its upcoming premium smartphone range, the iPhone 17 series, in the near future. Although Apple has not officially confirmed the launch date, reports suggest the iPhone unveiling could take place on either September 3 or September 9. Both dates fall on a Tuesday, aligning with the company’s typical schedule for hosting iPhone launch events. The iPhone 17 series is expected to include four models: the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro are expected to undergo significant upgrades and refinements compared to the previous generation.

iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro: Chipset

Previous reports suggested that the standard iPhone 17 would continue using the older A18 chip, but new leaks hint that it could actually feature the latest A19 processor. However, it’s still unclear whether the base model will receive a RAM upgrade from 8GB to 12GB. The phone is also expected to offer support for Qi 2.2 wireless charging.

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Pro is expected to feature the new A19 Pro chipset, alongside 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. This represents a notable 4GB RAM increase compared to earlier Pro versions. Meanwhile, rumors suggest the iPhone 17 Pro Max could pack the largest battery ever in an iPhone — a massive 5,500mAh cell. Charging options are likely to include 25W fast charging via MagSafe and 15W wireless charging with Qi2 compatibility.

iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro: Camera

The iPhone 17 is expected to feature a dual-camera system, including a 48MP main sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide lens, designed to deliver improved low-light photography.

The iPhone 17 Pro is rumored to sport a triple-lens rear camera system, featuring a 48MP primary sensor capable of recording in 8K, a 48MP ultra-wide lens, and a 48MP periscope telephoto lens designed for advanced zoom functionality. Up front, Apple is said to be enhancing the selfie experience with a new 24MP front-facing camera, promising crisper video chats and higher-quality selfies.

iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro: Design

According to recent reports, Apple is expected to bring back aluminum frames for the entire iPhone 17 series, including the high-end Pro and Pro Max models. This move signals a shift from the company’s recent strategy of using materials like stainless steel and titanium for its flagship devices—seen in models like the iPhone 15 Pro—while limiting aluminum to more affordable phones such as the iPhone SE and the forthcoming iPhone 16.

The forthcoming iPhone 17 Pro is anticipated to showcase a refined front design with ultra-slim bezels and a dynamic island that houses the front-facing camera. On the back, a broad rectangular camera array is expected to span across the rear panel, containing three lenses and a built-in flash. The Apple logo may also be positioned slightly lower than before, optimizing alignment with MagSafe charging technology.

iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro: Price

Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman reports that Apple’s iPhone 17 lineup—which includes the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max—is expected to hit the market between September 8 and September 10, 2025. The iPhone 17 Pro is likely to carry a price tag of Rs 1,45,990 in India, $1,199 in the United States, and approximately AED 4,403 in the UAE. Meanwhile, the top-tier iPhone 17 Pro Max could be launched at Rs 1,64,990 in India, $1,499 in the US, and around AED 5,299 in Dubai.
