The arrival of the next iPhone is just around the corner. As the expected September launch nears, fresh leaks surrounding the iPhone 17 continue to surface weekly—hinting at what could be Apple’s most dramatic overhaul in recent times. Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 series is rumored to feature four distinct variants: the standard iPhone 17, a new lightweight version called the iPhone 17 Air, along with the high-end iPhone 17 Pro and the top-tier iPhone 17 Pro Max. A significant change in this year’s lineup is the debut of the brand-new iPhone 17 Air, replacing the former Plus model in the series. A key question on many minds is whether pricing for the new iPhones will increase, especially in light of possible tariff-related costs.

iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max price in India, UAE and the USA:

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 lineup will be priced at Rs 79,900 in India, $799 in the United States, and AED 2,934 in Dubai. The new iPhone 17 Air model will be offered at Rs 89,900 in India, $899 in the U.S., and AED 3,799 in Dubai. For those eyeing the iPhone 17 Pro, it will launch at Rs 1,45,990 in India, $1,199 in the U.S., and AED 4,403 in Dubai. The top-end iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to retail for Rs 1,64,990 in India, $2,300 in the U.S., and AED 7,074 in Dubai.

iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max camera:

In a research note published in August 2024, analyst Jeff Pu suggested that all four iPhone 17 models will be equipped with a 24MP front camera—an upgrade over the 12MP selfie shooter found on the iPhone 16 series. This prediction was later echoed by well-known Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo in January 2024. Then in October, Pu further revealed that the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to include a 48MP telephoto lens offering 3.5x optical zoom, along with a redesigned rear camera setup arranged in a horizontal layout.

iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max design:

Back in September 2024, leaker Majin Bu — known for a mixed history of accurate predictions — reported that Apple was experimenting with a new iPhone design featuring a single unified button that combines both volume and action functions. This button may operate similarly to the capacitive camera control introduced on the iPhone 16 Pro.

The most significant design shift is expected with the iPhone 17 Air. In March, well-known tipster IceUniverse suggested the device could be an ultra-thin 5.5mm, potentially making it the slimmest iPhone Apple has ever produced. Additionally, the iPhone 17 Pro is rumored to sport a larger, more rectangular camera module, giving it a look reminiscent of Google’s Pixel phones. A semiconductor industry source even shared a concept render of the redesigned frame on X in December.

iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max chipset:

Early reports on the iPhone 17’s performance are starting to emerge. According to Mark Gurman, the entire lineup—including the iPhone 17 Air—is expected to run on Apple’s upcoming A19 processor. Meanwhile, the Pro and Pro Max variants are set to be equipped with a more advanced A19 Pro chip. Additionally, all four models are rumored to come with 12GB of RAM, an upgrade from the 8GB found in the iPhone 16 Pro, to better handle upcoming Apple Intelligence capabilities.
