In June, Apple revealed that iOS 26 would initially roll out as developer betas, following its usual pattern, with the first public beta scheduled to launch sometime in July. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the initial iOS 26 public beta is expected to launch this week. In a recent social media update, Gurman predicted that the public beta would likely go live on or near Wednesday, July 23.
Apple had earlier stated that the iOS 26 public beta would roll out in July, though the company didn’t share an exact release date.

iOS 26 is gearing up to deliver a range of fresh features and improvements, with Apple Intelligence as the main highlight. The update will bring tools such as smart summaries, visually driven context-based actions, and improved real-time translation seamlessly embedded throughout multiple apps.
The Messages app is set for a significant revamp, introducing features like customizable chat backgrounds, interactive polls within conversations, unique themes for individual chats, group typing indicators, and integrated Apple Cash functionality.
The Phone app is also receiving key enhancements, including call screening capabilities and a new Hold Assist tool that waits on hold until a live agent answers. Furthermore, Apple Music and Maps are anticipated to gain user-friendly updates designed to streamline daily activities.
