As the world adopts Artificial Intelligence (AI), Sundar Pichai says, ‘ India can lead the AI frontier!’ in an interview with Varun Mayya who is a content creator.
During the interview Sundar Pichai highlighted India’s strategic position in the global AI landscape. As technology giants such as Microsoft and Google focus on AI development in India, Pichai expressed his faith in India’s capability to influence the global advancement of AI.

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet Inc., in conversation with Varun Mayya, an content creator, discussed the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in India. Reportedly, the discussion comes shortly after Google completes its annual I/O developer event, playfully referred to as “AI Coachella” by Mayya.
The interview took place at Google’s headquarters, marking a significant dialogue on AI’s integration into the Indian market. “You have to understand the technology in a deeper way. If you do, you can transition, you can do things,” Pichai explained, adding that he plans to encourage people to do this.

During the interview, Mayya highlighted the competitive environment for young Indians planning to secure positions at top tech firms/ FAANG companies. Mayya explained that while many candidates are smart, there can be a general lack of emphasis on foundational knowledge.
In response to this, “Real success comes from understanding things in a deeper way,” Pichai replied. Furthermore, he gave reference to the iconic motor scene from Aamir Khan’s film 3 Idiots to explain the difference between knowing something and understanding it. Pichai also highlighted the innovative uses of AI and the emergence of wrapper startups in the Indian market.
