Perplexity will soon release the stock market holdings of Indian politicians through its AI platform. The announcement was made by CEO Aravind Srinivas on Saturday — hours after the company launched a similar feature for the United States.
“Holdings of Indian politicians coming in a few weeks”, Aravind Srinivas wrote in response to an X post.
Senior Perplexity employee Jeff Grimes (the Head of Live Events product) also assured in follow-up comments that the AI company was “planning to bring holders data to NSE and BSE stock pages soon”. Politician holdings for public stocks are currently available on Perplexity Finance for the United States.
“Perplexity Finance provides access to politicians’ holdings of public stocks by aggregating and displaying data on stock ownership by politicians. This feature is part of its broader effort to enhance transparency in financial markets, allowing users to see real-time or updated information on which public stocks politicians hold,” the AI chatbot responded upon being asked about the new feature.
According to details shared by the AI bot, it presently covers data for more than 600 members of the US Congress as required by the STOCK Act disclosures. The platform allows users to view politicians’ stock holdings and recent transactions made by them — with a focus on transparency and enabling investors to analyse trades made by politicians.
