Government of India has started offering legal advice to people via WhatsApp. The Ministry of Law and Justice posted about this development on ‘X’. In the post they mentioned how individuals will be able to get free legal assistance from this Chatbot on Meta owned WhatsApp. People can use the Nyaya Setu Chatbot to get legal assistance in various fields like civil law, criminal law, defense, corporate and family disputes.
The Ministry of Law and Justice said on X: “Legal help is now just a message away! Nyaya Setu brings ‘Ease of Justice’ directly to your WhatsApp. Simply verify your mobile number to access a unified interface for legal advice and information. This smart navigation ensures that professional legal assistance is always swift and accessible for every citizen”.

How to use Nyaya Setu on WhatsApp?
People can start using this chatbot by first saving the number “7217711814” on WhatsApp. After saving the number it might appear as Tele-Law. Post the verification of the mobile number people can use Nyaya Setu Chatbot that uses AI to provide unified legal advice and information.
Despite the launch, user satisfaction appears limited, with several people reporting technical glitches while accessing the service. Some users have also questioned why Nyaya Setu is linked to WhatsApp instead of the indigenously developed platform Arattai.
One user, Ketan Patel wrote on X, “Did anyone from @MLJ_GoI check that this Service is properly working or not? Or simply started publicity? It’s throwing error that contact the developer that this bot has a build error.”
The Ministry of Law and Justice has confirmed that Nyaya Setu provides support for family disputes, matrimonial issues, and domestic violence cases.

New beta update
WhatsApp has pushed out version 2.26.1.18 for Android via the Google Play Beta Program, aimed at improving how users create and find stickers.
The feature set is currently limited to select beta testers, with a wider rollout expected over the next few weeks.
The update adds a capability that lets users generate their own text-based stickers directly within WhatsApp, reducing the need for external sticker-making apps.
