Google AI Plus subscription to be Google's cheapest AI paid plan.

After the arrival of ChatGPT Go, Google wanted to extend access to its Gemini premium features at a nominal monthly subscription price. Hence, Google came up with the AI Plus plan, which is designed to bridge the gap between the free tier and the premium membership plan. The idea with Google AI Plus is to extend the advanced capabilities of Gemini to a wider audience without making them pay an exorbitant price.

The AI Plus Plan, which is currently made available only in Indonesia, offers a taste of the premium features of Gemini at a fraction of the cost. Google is yet to make the AI Plus subscription plan available in India, but in the wake of OpenAI’s launch of ChatGPT Go, you can expect Google to bring it to our shores soon

Google AI Plus: What do you get

The AI Plus plan offers subscribers a range of powerful Gemini features at a competitive price. Members will gain access to the Gemini 2.5 Pro AI model, as well as the Veo 3 Fast video generation tool. A major benefit of this new plan is a larger 128K token context window for the Gemini AI model, which is a major upgrade from the 32K limit of the free tier.

In addition to these core AI features, the subscription includes integration of the Gemini side panel into popular Google Workspace applications such as Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, and Drive. Subscribers also receive access to tools like Whisk and Flow, along with an additional 200GB of cloud storage that can be used across Gmail, Drive, and Photos.

This new tier is positioned below Google’s existing premium offerings. For comparison, the AI Ultra plan is priced at Rs 24,500 per month and the AI Pro plan costs Rs 1,950 per month in India. With the AI Plus plan, Google could make its Gemini AI features a lot more accessible.

How it compares with ChatGPT Go

Google’s new plan comes on the heels of a similar move by OpenAI. Introduced as an ‘India-only’ subscription model, ChatGPT Go costs Rs 399 per month and is tailored for the Indian market. ChatGPT Go offers users extended access to the company’s flagship GPT-5 model, increased limits on image generation, and a longer conversational memory.
