After Chief Executive Jensen Huang predicted a ‘robotic’ future, on Sunday he said that the company’s next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) chip platform is all set to be rolled out in 2026.

News comes in that the next-generation AI-chip platform will be called Rubin. The Rubin family of chips will include new graphics (GPU) and central processors (CPU). In addition to this, ‘Rubin will also include networking chips,’ Huang explained during the National Taiwan University in Taipei as part of the Computex trade show.

All we know about Nvidia’s new chip

Reportedly, the new CPU will be named Versa. The new graphics chips that are used to power AI applications will include next generation high-bandwidth memory that is made by the likes of SK Hynix, Micron and Samsung.

Huang explained further that Nvidia now plans to release a new family of AI chips every year. This can eventually help in accelerating its prior release schedule of roughly every two years, Huang added.

It seems like dominating about 80% of the market for AI chips, Nvidia has the potential to stand in a unique position as both the largest enabler as well as beneficiary of surging AI development.

The plans ahead!

During a keynote address at the 2024 Taipei International Information Technology Show, better known as Computex, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Huang had made announcements about his plans towards a ‘robotic’ future. He enthralled a packed house with the claim that the world has entered a “new industrial revolution.”

“In the future, Taiwan will build computers that walk,” Huang said. Furthermore, he also showed images of nine humanoid robots and several wheeled robots  highlighting that this robotic “future” is already here.

Looking at Huang’s presentation of the ‘robotic’ future, users seem to have high hopes on moving towards a more ‘tech-centric’ future ahead!
