For all users across the world relying on the service of ChatGPT, there’s good news. After a widespread outage across the globe, OpenAI has now restored the services of the ChatGPT chatbot. The official OpenAI Status website now clarifies that there are no active issues known to affect the ChatGPT services at the moment. Users on the web and mobile can now continue to use ChatGPT as and when intended.
In the wee hours of Wednesday, several users across the world declared performance issues with the ChatGPT chatbot, eventually leading to a total outage. The downtime affected users across the US and other major countries of the world. Several report suggested that almost 82 per cent of global users reported significant issues with the chatbot, thu affecting the usage scenario.
OpenAI, however, was quick to acknowledge the issue with a public statement, stating, “We’re currently experiencing issues. Elevated Error Rates on ChatGPT record mode, Sora and Codex. We have identified that users are experiencing elevated errors for the impacted services.” The company had assured that it will be working on the fixes at the time.
OpenAI eventually identified the root cause of the issue and release the fix, although the company didn’t reveal what bothered the world’s favourite AI chatbot.
