Attention WhatsApp users! You know how you are allowed to pin important chats at the top of your window when needed? Well, a new report from WABetaInfo suggests that you can now pin multiple chats on the top of your main chat window. As of now, the app allows users to pin up to 3 chats but as soon as they try to pin the fourth, the app doesn’t allow it. According to the report, WhatsApp is developing this option for users after which the update will be available for future use.
The report states that WhatsApp is rolling out this new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.24.6.15. It further adds that certain beta testers currently have access to a fresh interface tailored to streamline navigation through the pinned message list. Presently, users can pin a maximum of three messages.
If users try to pin a fourth message, WhatsApp automatically removes the oldest message from the pinned list. This measure is in place to uphold the three-message limit per chat, though WhatsApp may contemplate expanding this threshold based on user interaction and feedback.
The report added that by allowing additional pinned chats, WhatsApp aims to empower users to efficiently manage communication across multiple conversations without the hassle of constantly rearranging or compromising access to other important chats. This enhanced flexibility is in line with the evolving preferences of users who engage in numerous conversations, ultimately enhancing their overall experience.
Previously, users could only pin just one message at a time. This restriction necessitated the unpinning of an existing message before pinning a new one. Such a process often resulted in the loss of reference to the previously pinned message within the chat. With the latest update, users can now pin multiple messages without forfeiting access to crucial information previously pinned.
