The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology warned Android users of India and highlighted multiple vulnerabilities attached to Android operating systems that possess issues to users. The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a ‘critical’ warning statement on the official website for Android versions 13 and older.

As per the ministry, these vulnerabilities of Android OS can exploit user’s data as they will let attackers to perform a variety of harmful tasks, such as running their own code on the device, obtaining elevated privileges, accessing private user data, or even making the device unusable through a denial of service (DoS) attack.

This covers essential parts like the Framework, System, Google Play system updates, as well as parts related to various hardware producers including Arm, MediaTek, Unisoc, Qualcomm, and even Qualcomm’s closed-source parts.
