Apple is gearing up for an exciting week, with rumours swirling about the imminent launch of its first Macs powered by the new M4 chips. Industry insider Mark Gurman from Bloomberg has hinted that an “M4 Mac launch” is on the calendar for next week, although he did not specify an exact date. Gurman shared on social media that Apple has a busy schedule, starting with the launch of “Apple Intelligence” on Monday, followed by the anticipated Mac announcement, and concluding with earnings results on Thursday.
Adding to the speculation, Gurman noted that Apple has invited journalists and content creators to a hands-on experience in Los Angeles next Wednesday. This suggests that the new Macs are likely to be announced before this event.
Another popular leaker Sonny Dickson claims that the new Mac mini, featuring five USB-C ports, could launch even sooner, possibly this week. While Dickson has previously provided accurate insights regarding Apple products, some of his hardware-related assertions have proven less reliable. Nonetheless, the buzz around the M4 Macs is palpable.
Current expectations for the upcoming announcement include a range of products- an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro featuring the M4 chip, which will offer an additional Thunderbolt port compared to the current model. A14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro variants equipped with M4 Pro and M4 Max chip options. An updated iMac also powered by the M4 chip. A redesigned Mac mini, adopting a more compact design akin to the Apple TV, and featuring two front-facing USB-C ports, along with M4 and M4 Pro chip options. The USB-C versions of the Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Keyboard accessories.
