After a hiatus of two years from initiating campus recruitment, Infosys is all set to restart the process of hiring for 2025. The country’s second-largest IT services company will begin its campus hiring process for the fiscal year 2025-26. At a time when rival companies like TCS and HCL Tech are considering laying off human talent due to AI and cost-cutting, Infosys is focusing on talent acquisition.
Salil Parekh, the company’s CEO, had previously stated in July that Infosys wants to hire around 20,000 graduates while avoiding large-scale layoffs, thus painting a stark contrast to its competitors like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which had announced job cuts at the mid and senior levels a few weeks prior. TCS’s layoff is said to affect up to 12,000 employees across its global offices.
Infosys starts hiring graduates
To help with the recruitment process, Infosys has already invited senior employees to join interview panels that will visit colleges across the country. These panels will be responsible for assessing candidates for digital specialist engineer (DSE) positions, thus evaluating their skills in programming and core problem-solving.
Infosys’ campus recruitment will take place at over ten tier-2 and tier-3 engineering colleges. The recruitment drive will cover a wide range of academic branches, including computer science, information technology, electronics, and mechanical engineering.
The focus on campus hiring is part of a strategy to build a future-ready workforce that is ready to tackle modern problems with the latest skills. Infosys has been making significant investments in AI and has trained a huge portion of its existing workforce in AI and other modern-day IT technologies. This new recruitment drive aims to rope in fresh talent that can be trained for handling the next-gen digital solutions for modern and future clients.
Hiring process for fresh graduates
Infosys’ hiring process for fresh graduates is said to be rigorous, including aptitude tests, group discussions, and multiple interview rounds. The candidates who make it will first be enrolled in a trainee program, which includes hands-on training at Infosys’s Global Education Centre in Mysuru. If they successfully complete the training, they will be absorbed into the company.
