The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is all set to make the Aadhaar update process easier and faster. Aadhaar card holders will be able to modify their name, address, date of birth, and mobile number online. Moreover the digital system, will greatly help in eliminating the need for in-person visits to physical Aadhaar Seva Kendras. Along with ending the tiresome physical paperwork process involved.
Integrating Aadhaar Data in Goverment Databases
Aadhaar cards are a pivotal identification documents in India. Since it has been linked to a large number of government schemes and other identification documents like PAN Card. The Aadhaar card serves as a bridge for people to access many government services. Although till now updating personal details on Aadhaar Cards, required visiting enrolment centres and presenting physical documents. However UIDAI’s upcoming system intends to change that by integrating with existing government databases such as PAN, passport, and ration card records.
This integration will allow automatic verification of certain details, significantly reducing processing times. Moreover, utility bills like those for electricity or water will now be accepted as valid proof of address. Therefore expanding the list of eligible documents that are needed during the updation process.

Go to the official Aadhaar portal.
Log in using your Aadhaar number and OTP sent to your registered mobile.
Choose “Update Aadhaar” and select the field you wish to modify.

Once verified, updates will automatically reflect in your Aadhaar profile.
Important Tips
