The India Space Congress 2024, organized by SIA-India, is set to gather industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators from around the world to discuss the future of space exploration and technology. With its theme “Bridging Boundaries, Transforming Tomorrow,” the congress scheduled from June 26-28 in New Delhi, seeks to define the industry’s trajectory and offer opportunities for business engagement and collaboration.
The Indian space sector is experiencing rapid growth and transformation. Recent policy changes, such as allowing up to 100% foreign direct investment (FDI) in select space sectors and the introduction of space authorization guidelines by IN-SPACe, have opened new avenues for global partnerships. Dr Subba Rao Pavuluri, President of SIA-India, emphasizes the urgency of these discussions, highlighting the congress’s role in shaping the future of space exploration.
Notable speakers include S Somanath, Chairman of ISRO, Dr Pawan Kumar Goenka, Chairman of IN-SPACe, and other prominent figures from the global space community. These experts will provide insights on space policy, regulation, and industry practices, fostering a comprehensive dialogue on the sector’s challenges and opportunities.
The congress has received support from key entities such as ISRO, IN-SPACe, NSIL, and over 60 global partners, including foreign governments, space agencies, and industry leaders. Partners like Switzerland and Western Australia will bring their expertise to the event, enhancing its collaborative spirit.
ISC 2024 will feature around 35 thematic sessions, including a special session on the Indo-Pacific coalition. Participants from over 30 countries will discuss a wide range of topics, such as space policy, regulatory analysis, satcom and spectrum management, investment, launch strategies, next-generation technologies, sustainable development, cybersecurity, AI, space defence, and the future of humanity in space.
With over 800 delegates expected, ISC 2024 is set to be the largest gathering of its kind. The event will offer opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing, and academic contributions, aiming to address the pressing challenges and opportunities in space exploration.
