Rana Daggubati, the grandson of legendary producer D Ramanaidu and a prominent member of the Daggubati–Akkineni family, turns 41 today. Known for his powerful roles in Telugu cinema and Bollywood, Rana’s life has always been closely tied to Hyderabad, where he spent his childhood in a house that has now been transformed into a luxurious restaurant.
Childhood home turned luxury restaurant
The house, located in Film Nagar, Jubilee Hills, was part of the area when it was mostly barren land with only a few houses. Today, Jubilee Hills is one of Hyderabad’s most upscale localities, and Rana’s childhood home has been converted into a fine-dining restaurant called Sanctuary. The property is valued at around Rs 45 crore, according to ET Now, and retains the original structure while incorporating modern design elements.
In a video shared on his sister-in-law Aashritha Daggubati’s YouTube channel Infinity Platter, Rana gave fans a tour of the property. He fondly recalled sneaking out of the house during his childhood and even shared a memory of falling off the spiral staircase while attempting to slide down the banister.
Luxurious interiors
The exterior gardens of the house have been transformed into a beautifully lit dining space, creating a magical ambiance during moonlit nights. The majestic living room of the old house now serves as a luxurious dining area. Apart from Hyderabad, Sanctuary also has another branch in Goa.
Rana’s current home
Rana now lives in a lavish lake-facing bungalow in Film Nagar with his wife, Miheeka Bajaj. Known as the Lakeview Mansion, the property is valued at approximately Rs 50 crore as per Siasat, and is known for serene views, and luxurious interiors.
From growing up in a modest home in Jubilee Hills to seeing it turned into a Rs 45 crore luxury restaurant, Rana Daggubati’s journey reflects both his personal success and his deep connection to the spaces that shaped his early life. Today, as he celebrates his 41st birthday, fans get a glimpse into his life and legacy through the story of this iconic property.
Rana’s upcoming projects
Rana continues to impress with his choice of films. His upcoming projects include Kaantha, a historical mystery-drama thriller directed by Selvamani Selvaraj. The film stars Dulquer Salmaan, Samuthirakani, Bhagyashri Borse, and Rana himself. Produced under Spirit Media and Wayfarer Films, the movie is set in 1950s Madras and follows the famous filmmaker Ayya and his complicated relationship with film star T. K. Mahadevan.
Another anticipated project is Parasakthi, a Tamil-language political historical drama directed by Sudha Kongara and produced by Dawn Pictures. The film features Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, Sreeleela, and Rana Daggubati, among others. It is based on true events surrounding the anti-Hindi agitations in Tamil Nadu in 1965.
