Quest for the crown: What was the winning question for Miss World Opal Suchata?

Miss Thailand Opal Suchata was crowned Miss World 2025 at the 72nd edition of the pageant in Telangana. Crowned by Miss World 2024, as per tradition, the event culminated with a round of questions posed by the judges. In the panel was Manushi Chillar, from India who was crowned Miss World in 2017. Actor Sonu Sood posed the question to Suchata about how her journey taught her storytelling and personal responsibility.

She responded, “I’ve learned we must become people our loved ones look up to.” “No matter how far we go, our actions should always speak loude,” she added. Each continental group produced a winner after rapid-fire 45 second round where they were questioned as to why deserved the Miss World 2025 crown. In the group were queens from Americas and Caribbean, Africa, Europe and Asia and Oceania, each representing their country.

Came in second was Miss Ethiopia, Hasset Dereje Admassu who was been declared Miss World 2025 runner-up.

Questions for the queens

Among the judges was actor Rana Daggubati who asked the Miss World 2025 runner-up about changing the perception the beauty pageants. She answered, “Miss World is more than beauty. I’m the first-ever Ethiopian to reach this stage. It’s about purpose, and it matters to mothers and children across the world.”

Miss Poland Maja Klajda answered a question posed by actpr Namarata Shirodkar. Exploring her personal experience of Hyderabad, she shared that her greatest achievement in Telangana was overcoming shyness, describing the state’s hospitality as a second family. Her most memorable moment was witnessing the compassion at a medical tourism facility. The contestants were asked intellectual questions about the age of misinformation as well.

Who was Miss India?

India’s Nandini Gupta, despite a commendable performance, did not make it to the Top 8 for the continent stage which further narrows down to top 5. Each of the contestants go through rigorous rounds such as Head to Head Challenge, Top Model, Beauty with a Purpose, Talent, Sports, and Multimedia.

Nandini Gupta was crowned Miss World India at the Femina Miss World 2023. She represented Rajasthan among 29 other contestants. She paid homage to Ganga through her gown in the 2023 event. For Miss World 2025, she adorned an orange traditional Indian saree as she held the Indian Tricolour along with the 109 queens from around the world.
