‘Jewel Thief’ actor Jaideep Ahlawat’s humble beginnings are not unknown to his fans. Born and raised in Kharkara, a village in Haryana, Ahlawat was always an outsider in the film industry. However, what started as a life of struggle has now transformed into a life of fame and luxury, thanks to his hard work. He was once struggling to find space in a cramped one-bedroom apartment that he shared with five others. Today, he owns luxury properties in Mumbai’s upscale Andheri West.
Jaideep Ahlawat used to share a 1bhk with six people
Ahlawat recently came on The Great Indian Kapil Show along with his longtime friend Vijay Varma, Jitendra Kumar, and Pratik Gandhi. During the episode, he got candid about his modest beginnings and his early days in Mumbai.
“We were only two people in the beginning, but then we became six people in one BHK because someone or the other would ask for a place to stay, and we would allow them to stay with us. So the bedroom of my house was filled with clothes, and we all would just lay together in the open kitchen and hall. But we had fun, there was no sadness about it,” he said.

Fast forward to the present, the Paatal Lok star and his wife recently purchased two premium luxury apartments in Mumbai’s upscale Andheri West, within a span of just two months. According to property documents accessed through the Maharashtra government’s Inspector General of Registration (IGR) portal, Ahlawat purchased both the flats in Poorna Apartments, a posh complex in the locality.
He bought one of the flats in May and the other one in June, each costing Rs 10 crore. Though the two flats are on separate floors, they both have the same layout and specifications. As per real estate data reviewed by Square Yards, the second unit offers a carpet area of 1,950 sq. ft. and a built-up space of 2,341 sq. ft. It also has two reserved parking spots.
From sleeping in living rooms to owning luxury homes in Mumbai’s real estate hub, Jaideep Ahlawat has come a long way.
