He said, “While the world is developing every day, even our Bhendi Bazaar is developing, and I do not see any harm in that. The buildings here were centuries old, in a dilapidated condition that needed sincere attention and His Holiness Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin initiated the redevelopment for the betterment and greater good of Bhendi Bazaar. The project is nearing halfway through completion, once it is completed – you will see a new Bhendi Bazaar with modern amenities and spaces.”
Fakhruddin Mithaiwala of Fakhri Farsan Mart and Qureshi Abdul Samad of Hajji Tikka Corner express said, “Bhendi Bazaar is developing in many ways. The methods of business have changed from before as well as the surroundings we operate in. From the shabby buildings of the old Bhendi Bazaar, we have now progressed to tall towers. The mindset of locals has also changed. I do miss the essence of the olden-day Bhendi Bazaar, but this change is happening for a better future. We must evolve with changing times and leave the old things in the past. Our business is more than 75 years old; we have seen time progress and have accepted the changes well. We will soon be relocated to the Al-Ezz towers from the transit shop, and we are looking forward to it. We are taking this redevelopment and the changes positively.”
