Warren Buffett, popularly called the ‘Oracle of Omaha’ was born nearly a century ago today. Having built a multi-billion dollar empire with Berkshire Hathaway with a Rs 1.08 lakh crore market cap ratio, he is the longest serving CEO with a tenure spanning nearly six decades. With a net worth of Rs 14,920 crores, he announced his retirement earlier this year.

The American investor and philanthropist is the son of US congressman Howard Buffett who attended Wharton Business School and Columbia and molded his career around philosophy after reaching a pioneer in finance. He recently announced his retirement and made way for Greg Abel to take his place.

Born in 1937, he has been ruling the Penske Automotive Group for over 20 years. Known as “the Captain,” he is a auto racing car owner, businessman and even a professional driver. Today at 83, he owns Team Penske, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, IndyCar, and other auto racing-related enterprises. He is the founder and chairman of Penske Corporation, which oversees his diverse business ventures. Additionally, Penske has been honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Since its inception in 1992, Greenberg has served as the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer after his firm became one of the top players in the footwear segment giving steep competition to players like Nike and Asics.
