One of the most sought-after actors today, Jaideep Ahlawat grew up in Haryana before joining FTII, Pune. In a recent interview, he shared that he was underweight almost half of his life, even though he had a rich diet. He revealed that till 2008 when he was about 28 years old, his weight always stayed within 70 kgs.

Appearing on Khaane Mein Kaun Hai’s YouTube channel, Jaideep revealed, “Until 2008, my weight never crossed 70 kgs, even though I am so tall. And I used to eat at least 40 rotis in a day because you are eating and burning it all.”

Even though his weight has gone up now, he still prefers to eat home-cooked meals. “I have been in Mumbai for 15-16 years now and I still like eating at home. Even when I go for parties, I come back home and eat my home-cooked food. I feel incomplete if I am not eating at home,” he revealed. He also added that when he travels abroad, he tries to find Indian food everywhere, in the absence of which, he likes to indulge in Lebanese food.

He shared more details about his diet when he used to live in his Haryana village. “Till the time I stayed in my village, till then we had a very basic structure for food. In the morning, we would have chane or bajre ki roti, or missi roti with lassi, butter, chutney. Just that. And we would have dinner after that. Lunch was prepared but the idea was that in case someone is hungry they can have it, but this wasn’t a thing,” he said.

“Milk was an essential part of my life. Half a liter at least thrice a day. During those years when we were growing up, we weren’t allowed to have milk in a glass. Either have it in a lota or jug. And this was very common,” he remarked.

On the work front, Jaideep Ahlawat’s most recent work is the Netflix film Jewel Thief. Before this, he was last seen in Amazon Prime’s Paatal Lok season 2 as Inspector Hathiram Chaudhary. He will also be seen in Family Man 3.
