After impressing audiences with his performance in “Kalki 2898 AD,” veteran actor Kamal Haasan has made a triumphant return to the big screen with the highly anticipated big-budget film, “Indian 2.” This sequel reunites the iconic actor with director S. Shankar, marking their collaboration after nearly three decades since the original film’s release in 1996. The makers of “Indian 2” have assembled a star-studded cast, including Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Aggarwal, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Gulshan Grover, and Bobby Simha.
Produced with a budget of Rs 250 crore, this vigilante drama revolves around the character Veerasekaran Senapathy, portrayed by Kamal Haasan. The storyline follows Senapathy’s return to India to aid a young man determined to expose the corruption plaguing the country’s politicians. Haasan reprises his role as Senapathy after a 28-year hiatus, and his remuneration for the film is equivalent to the entire production cost of a small-budget movie.

He explained, “The budget was not just decided by the director and the script. COVID-19 decided our budget. Some of the accidents delayed the budget.” He further praised the persistence of the film’s producer and director, stating, “The tenacity of the producer and the director must be applauded even before the film becomes a hit. It’s very easy to let go if your hand is in pain, you let go. Let me leave this and go to the other one. They did not do that.
