As the IPL season hits fever pitch, fans are locking in their loyalties, planning game nights, and following every move their favourite players make. But ahead of the high-stakes clash between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals on May 18 at the iconic Arun Jaitley Stadium, the Titans gave us something a little more flavourful. In a fun behind-the-scenes video shared on Gujarat Titans’ official Instagram page, the squad was seen boarding their flight to Delhi. But just before takeoff, someone from the team threw out a question that instantly sparked cravings – “What’s one thing you’d recommend to eat in Delhi?”
Let’s just say — from spicy street food to five-star classics, the responses did not disappoint.
Chole Bhature: The unofficial MVP
The moment the question was asked, Ishant Sharma didn’t miss a beat. “Chole bhature,” he said. No hesitation, just pure Delhi pride. He wasn’t the only one flying the flag for this hearty dish. Coach Ashish Nehra backed the street food love but with his own spin — golgappe — and couldn’t help teasing Ishant. “Akele ja raha hai chole bhature khane, hume leke bhi nahi jaa raha,” he joked. (“He’s going to eat chole bhature alone, not even taking me along!”)
Sai Kishore also cast his vote for chole bhature, as did Mahipal Lomror and Gurnoor Brar. Clearly, this North Indian classic has a serious fan base in the Titans camp.

Bukhara was the fine-dine favourite
When it comes to iconic Delhi dining, Bukhara at ITC Maurya is in a league of its own — and the players know it. Star batter Shubman Gill kept it simple and specific: “One dish that I would recommend to eat in Delhi is the dal from Bukhara restaurant.”
All-rounder Shahrukh Khan echoed that sentiment, saying, “One restaurant that I would recommend to everybody is Bukhara in ITC.” Sai Sudharsan agreed — for him too, Bukhara’s dal is the capital’s must-try dish.
Even South African speedster Kagiso Rabada gave a shoutout to the legendary spot, and Rashid Khan chimed in with Bukhara and Karim’s as his top Delhi food picks.
Street food gems
It wasn’t all about fine dining, though. Cricketers gave Delhi’s street food its much-deserved spotlight. Rehmatullah Gurbaz recommended the Palak Patta chaat, while Anuj Rawat leaned into the comfort of Chole Kulche.

Mohammed Siraj, on the other hand, headed straight to the meatier end of the spectrum with his picks — Nalli Nihari and Biryani — bold, spicy, and deeply satisfying.
Washington Sundar went with a classic that speaks to many North Indian hearts: kadhi chawal — a nostalgic, home-style choice. Karim Janat made a strong case for the Tandoori Raan from Karim’s. He also gave a sweet nod to Delhi’s summers with his pick: the colourful ice golas near India Gate.
From five-star dining to the hustle of street food stalls, Delhi’s culinary scene clearly impressed the Gujarat Titans squad. And if you’re planning a food itinerary for your next trip to the capital, you might want to take notes from this all-star lineup.
As the Titans themselves put it, “Admin’s food plans are fully sorted in Delhi, thanks to our Titans!” And now, so are ours.
