Superyachts are one of the most important assets of billionaires.

As the rich get richer and their net worth fluctuates every day, billionaires do not shy away from luxuries. While an EV giant sets out to become the world’s first trillionaire, the other conducts speedboat races, these billionaires have spent nine-figure amounts on leisure activities.

These aquatic palaces aren’t just luxury rides, but a status symbol today. Owned by the most influential and the uber-rich, these superyachts are built for opulence. The boats get longer and their net worth gets heavier. As per a Business Insider report, the world’s ten richest people have gotten wealthier by $500 billion this year. And as the boating ritual goes, the bigger the boat, the bigger the billion.

The biggest boats of billionaires

Over the past two years, reported BI, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, and Sergey Brin have taken possession of yachts over 100 metres long. And, the Internet cannot forget the Amazon founder’s Venetian superyacht wedding to Lauren Sanchez anytime soon. Loaded with luxurious amenities like swimming pools, gyms, spas, movie theatres, and helipads, these super-sized yachts have been popularly spotted near the islands of Greece, St. Tropez, and the Caribbean.

Jeff Bezos

Jeff Bezos’ $500 million megayacht, the infamous 127-metre vessel, is named Koru. Designed with the carving of Sanchez’s face, it liberally uses teak to deck up the interiors. It has hosted several celebrities for their engagement party, including Bill Gates and Leonardo DiCaprio. It made headlines even before it was afloat, as the historic Rotterdam bridge was to be taken apart to allow for the Oceano boat to pass through. However, due to the backlash, the decision was revoked.
