Larry Ellison, the co-founder of Oracle, became the richest man on Earth for an entire 24 hours. Shooting past the Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who is on his way to become world’s first trillionaire, Ellison is also known for looking surprisingly young at 80. Garnering praise from anti-ageing fanatic Bryan Johnson, the billionaire has been told that he looks 30-years younger.
Johnson had previously posted on X (formerly Twitter) and said that Ellison was “doing a good job managing biological ageing.” The Internet could not help but wonder if Ellison too was part of Johnson’s “trigenerational blood exchange” fiasco with his own son, David. But, a statement from Gina Smith in 2018, the former editor-in-chief of Ellison’s NewDomain, confirmed otherwise.
‘He’s a so-called veg-aquarian’
In a Quora thread, Smith confirmed that Ellison does have an intense workout routine and a carefully planned diet. He reportedly exercised for several hours a day when she used to work with him, between 1990s and 2000s. “”He never drank anything other than green tea and water,” Smith said. “And he’s a so-called ‘veg-aquarian.’” Explaining the term, she said he only ate vegetables, fish, and fruit. Smith also revealed that he known to sip carrot juice during the day.
Commenting on his uncanny youthful glow, netizens questioned whether he had gone under the knife to achieve his look. But, they did come to a conclusion that the surgical procedures can only get someone so far. “This guy is 80?? He doesn’t look (plastic surgery only can do so much), sound, or move like an 80 year old. This guy seems more like he’s in his 50s,” one user wrote on X.
The billionaire is reportedly worth $393 billion. Recently his wealth distribution and philanthropy has come to light. However, his youthful appearance still remains a mystery.
‘Death has never made any sense to me’
Ellison had a difficult life in his early years when his biological mother reportedly left his family when he was very young. His adoptive mother, on the other hand, died of cancer when he was in college.
Speaking to biographer Mike Wilson, Ellison had once told them “Death has never made any sense to me…How can a person be there and then just vanish, just not be there?” The anti-ageing advocate, Bryan Johnson had also spoken to Fortune and commented on death. “When you feel his vibrancy for life, he rages against death,” he said was a saying that inspired him.
In fact defeating death has become a trend among the rich. Google co-founder Larry Page, the creator of Calico Labs has also funded a prominent ageing research. Promoting a study that probes into cell ageing reversal, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, too, has created Altos Labs for the same. Reports also reveal that former PayPal CEO Peter Thiel took human growth hormone pills everyday and has plans to be cryogenically frozen after his death.
