Released on July 19, the Saiyaara box office collection has crossed the Rs 45 crore mark in just two days. With a music album that took social media by storm, the film is inching towards becoming the fastest Bollywood film to enter the Rs 50 crore club.
The Mohit Suri directorial hit the big screen, attracting audiences in large numbers. With over a 50% occupancy rate, Bollywood rejoices with a hit after a series of slow releases like Metro…In Dino in the same genre.
Saiyaara occupancy rates
Saiyaara shows, apart from being booked in major NCR cities, also had the maximum numbers in night shows with over 70.74% occupied seats. Evening and afternoon shows inched closer together with over 50% filled cinemas. It is interesting to note how Saiyaara will perform in the opening weekdays, coming with strong waves on the weekend.
Following similar trends as Saiyaara’s box office collection on day 1, Bengaluru movie-goers reached the halls in large numbers with over 70% occupancy rates. A high trend was observed in Lucknow, Jaipur and Delhi NCR. However, no city experienced occupancy rates lower than 40% for Saiyaara in Hindi as per Sacnilk reports.

Directed by Mohit Suri and Ahaan Panday, and Aneet Padda in lead roles, the film is a classic romantic drama. Beating the records of other young stars like Sara Ali Khan in Metro In Dino and Khushi Kapoor’s debut performance in Loveyappa, Saiyaara has set the bar high for Bollywood newcomers.
Saiyaara had a great run on its opening day as well, with a box office collection of over Rs 20 crore. Positive reviews flowing in for the debutants Ahaan and Aneet, the discography was praised widely on social media, a signature of Mohit Suri films. Internationally, however, it had a slow opening day grossing Rs 3 core taking the total Saiyaara box office collection to Rs 48.5 crore.
