Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps (IMAX 3D) has completed its first week on the Indian box office, earning a total of over Rs 27 crore pan-India. On the eighth day, Friday (August 1), ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ added approximately Rs 90 lakh across all languages, pushing the India net box office collection to Rs 27.91 crore according to iwmbuzz.com.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ released on Friday (July 25) with a decent opening of Rs 5.5 crore. The film saw a hike of  33.64% on its first Saturday, earning Rs 7.35 crore, and maintained the same pace on Sunday with Rs 7.25 crore. 

However, the earnings plummeted by over 71% to Rs 2.07 crore on Monday. Although Tuesday saw a marginal increase to Rs 2.19 crore, collections continued to drop on Wednesday (Rs 1.53 crore) and Thursday (Rs 1.05 crore), showing a weak box office hold.

The majority of the film’s earnings can be attributed to the English version (Rs 19.4 crore), followed by Hindi (Rs 6.3 crore), with Tamil (Rs 0.72 crore) and Telugu (Rs 0.52 crore).

Movie plot and cast

The film takes place in an alternate 1960s universe where the Fantastic Four must save Earth from the cosmic threat posed by Galactus, played by Ralph Ineson. The film features Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing. Matt Shakman directed the film, with the screenplay written by Josh Friedman, Eric Pearson, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer. The movie also includes Oscar-winner Michael Giacchino.
