Actor Ram Kapoor, known for his dramatic physical transformation, has finally addressed the swirling rumours surrounding his weight loss and the alleged use of Ozempic, a diabetes medication now popularly used for shedding extra kilos.

In a conversation with Humans of Bombay, Kapoor responded to the intense speculation and criticism online, where many have questioned whether his transformation is due to disciplined lifestyle changes or the influence of medications like Ozempic.

“It’s madness, ‘Ozempic liya hai’ toh kya hua? Ek zindagi jeeni hai, jo bhi shortcut doctor bol raha hai, lo!” the actor said, defending the use of doctor-prescribed solutions for weight management. “You have one life. If your doctor suggests a shortcut to live healthier, take it! Why wouldn’t you?” he further said.

Ozempic, originally intended for type 2 diabetes patients, has surged in popularity for its use in weight loss. It works by suppressing appetite, slowing digestion and regulating blood sugar levels. However, its rising use among celebrities has made it the subject of both fascination and controversy.

Kapoor strongly condemned the judgment people face for using medically approved treatments, pointing out the double standards around the concept of “shortcuts”. “People say don’t take shortcuts, do it naturally. Everyone has taken a shortcut. Antibiotics are a shortcut. So how is Ozempic any different?” the actor questioned.

Kapoor further stressed upon the fact that Ozempic is not a readily available over-the-counter drug. “You can’t get it without a doctor. If your doctor is prescribing it, will you listen to them or to social media?” he said. “Karan Johar, me, all of us dealing with this Ozempic nonsense—you know why we don’t react? Because we know these people saying it are mad. They know nothing,” he said addressing the online trolling.
