Daniel Craig was the last known successor of the iconic James Bond franchise. Complete with a swanky Aston Martin, Agent 007 remains unnamed. However, for the first time in history, a Bond video game introduces a new face to the screen before hitting the theatres.
Making a return as MI6’s newest agent on duty, is Patrick Gibson. Much anticipated by fans online, they stand corrected. This big return after more than a decade, the last video game was released in 2012, called 007 Legends. A throwback to ‘GoldenEye 007’, the newest IO Interactive game is called ‘007 First Light’.
Not only is he debuting via a video game, Patrick Gibson is also the youngest James Bond so far. He left behind George Lazenby who played Bond at the age of 29 in 1969’s ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.’ 007 First Light’s eponymous character is best known for his current role in the Dexter series, Original Sin. Under the radar since the game’s announcement in June 2025, the developers did not confirm or deny Gibson’s character at the time.
