Sunny Leone and Ram Kapoor starrer Kuch Kuch Locha Hai box office collections got off to a horrific start on day 1 as the occupancy rate on Friday was recorded at a downright unflattering 20%. And that was reflected in its box office collections figures when they came in – Rs 0.75 crore in the domestic market. The sex comedy is now stuck in some kind of a rut where Sunny Leone lure is not proving attractive enough to persuade more cinegoers into the theatre seats. Kuch Kuch Locha Hai day 2 and day 3 collections have added up to Rs 0.75 crore respectively on each day for a grand total of Rs 2.25 crore. The daily collections figures have now just about collapsed and the grand total is reportedly Rs 2.63 crore.
This is a surprise as the sex comedy received much publicity, courtesy the focus on Sunny Leone, but the footfalls in the theaters indicate that there is no chance the movie is going to turn out to be a box office collections hit – in fact it seems fated to end up at the other end of the spectrum.

It looks like Akshay Kumar starrer Gabbar Is Back is still managing to pull in a lot of the weekend cinema going crowd, drawing them away from Sunny Leone and Kuch Kuch Locha Hai. The fact that Amitabh Bachchan’s Piku too did well enough shows that Sunny Leone has a very limited market to look up to – Piku in fact managed collections in excess of Rs 10 crore on Sunday.

Kuch Kuch Locha Hai has relied heavily on positive reviews and good word of mouth, to try to muscle in on the B.O. action, but to no avail.
The pairing of Sunny Leone and Ram Kapoor does not seem to have gone down very well with the public – the contrast was too wide, even if the film is a sex comedy. Evelyn Sharma’s skin show too did not manage to change the fate of the movie.
