Originally released in 2016 with a budget of Rs 15 crore, Sanam Teri Kasam had a relatively underwhelming performance at the box office, grossing only Rs 9 crore during its initial run. However, after finding a dedicated audience through its OTT release and building a cult following, the film’s makers chose a prime time—Valentine’s Day week—to re-release it, capitalizing on its romantic theme.

As Sanam Teri Kasam continues its strong performance in the re-release segment, it is now on track to surpass Tumbbad’s net collection of Rs 32 crore, potentially becoming the highest-grossing re-release in India. Before Sanam Teri Kasam, films like Laila Majnu and Tumbbad also enjoyed successful re-releases.
