Mohit Suri’s romantic musical drama Saiyaara, starring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, is proving to be a box office winner. Released on July 18, the Mohit Suri-directed film has surpassed all box-office predictions and expectations and crossed the Rs 80 crore mark in just its opening weekend.

‘Saiyaara’ box office collection Day 3

As per data provided by film industry tracker Sacnilk, Saiyaara recorded a notable surge in collections on its third day, Sunday, earning approximately Rs 37 crore net on Sunday. This marked a 48% increase from Saturday’s numbers, which stood at Rs 25 crore net. The film had already opened strong with Rs 21 crore on its first day, bringing the total three-day domestic collection to an impressive Rs 83 crore net. This is beyond all predictions that trade analysts and box-office gurus had done for the film.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also praised the film’s steady rise at the box office. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, “Saiyaara is achieving is both UNIMAGINABLE and UNPRECEDENTED… The film is in rampage mode – not just across metros, but also in Tier-2 and Tier-3 centres… Midnight shows are being added to meet the overwhelming demand.”

Adarsh also gave the film 4.5 stars, and regarded Saiyaara to be the second blockbuster of 2025, after Chhaava which released earlier this year.

The film enjoyed heavy footfall over the weekend, with Hindi occupancy reaching a remarkable 71.18% on Sunday alone.

Box office expert Sumit Kadel, on the other hand, predicted the Yash Raj Film movie to do a lifetime business of Rs 200 crore net, and might even rise to Rs 300 crore just at the box-office alone.

“Devoid of Star Power, Franchise Backing & Safe Genre, yet defied all projections with sheer content and word of mouth,” Kadel wrote in a tweet, emphasising that at a time when films are majorly driven by star power and star cast, this film has emerged at the box office with flying colours even with the absence of big names.

About Saiyaara

Produced by Yash Raj Films, the movie also features Aneet Padda as the female lead, with Anngad Raaj and Sid Makkar in supporting roles. If the movie can keep this current momentum going, it can become one of the biggest commercial successes this year.
