Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who was attacked by an intruder at his Mumbai residence, is recovering well and is expected to be discharged from the hospital in two to three days, doctors confirmed on Saturday.

The 54-year-old Bollywood actor sustained multiple stab wounds, including injuries to his neck and near his spine, during a brutal attack at his Bandra home in the early hours of Thursday. He was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.

Doctors at the hospital reported that Khan has been moved out of the ICU and is recovering as expected. He is now walking and on a normal diet. “We are observing his progress, and he is doing excellently well according to our expectations. Based on his progress, we have advised him to rest, and if he remains comfortable, he should be discharged in two to three days,” said Dr. Nitin Dange, a neurosurgeon at Lilavati Hospital, on Friday.

Dr. Dange further explained that Khan had suffered three injuries: two on his hand and one on the right side of his neck. The most significant injury was at the back, near the spine, where doctors successfully removed the sharp object and repaired the spinal damage.

Meanwhile, police have launched an extensive manhunt for the attacker. More than 30 police teams have been formed to track down the assailant, who reportedly stabbed the actor during a robbery attempt at his 12th-floor apartment in the Satguru Sharan building.

The city’s crime branch and local police have collected forensic evidence and are reviewing CCTV footage from the building where the incident occurred.
