Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is steadily recovering after sustaining severe injuries in a recent attack, doctors at Lilavati told the media. Dr Dange, who performed the spine surgery, revealed that a sharp object had pierced the actor’s spine, leading to fluid leakage. “The object was removed, and the spine has been repaired,” said the doctor. Saif also suffered a wound on his neck, which required plastic surgery to repair. Despite the severity of the injuries, Saif’s recovery has been promising, with medical experts closely monitoring his progress.
The incident left him with wounds on his neck and spine, both of which required immediate medical attention. Doctors at Lilavati Hospital performed a critical surgery to address the damage, ensuring his condition is now stable.
Niraj Uttamani, chief operating officer, Lilavati Hospital, shared how Saif arrived at the hospital covered in blood yet composed, accompanied only by his son Taimur. “He walked in bravely despite his condition. He truly is a hero,” Uttamani said. The actor was treated in the ICU immediately after admission and has since shown significant improvement.
Doctors have confirmed that Saif is now stable enough to be moved out of the ICU to a regular hospital room. He has even started walking under supervision, a sign of positive recovery. However, strict precautions have been advised, including limited movement and complete rest for the next week to ensure proper healing.
Amidst the chaos, Kareena Kapoor Khan issued a heartfelt statement, calling the day “incredibly challenging” for the family and urging the media to avoid excessive speculation. She requested privacy, emphasising the need for space to heal and cope, while thanking well-wishers for their support during this difficult time. According to media reports, the FIR stated Saif Ali Khan’s attacker was armed with a stick and a knife, allegedly entering Jeh’s room and demanding Rs 1 crore. However, police have clarified that the incident was a case of theft.
