Robert Downey Jr, famously known as an ‘Iron Man’ to return to Marvel Studios.  Downey will be seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming movie ‘Avengers Doomsday’. The announcement has been made by the Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige and actor Robert Downey Jr at San Diego Comic-Con 2024.

In  ‘Avengers Doomsday’, Downey will not play his legendary ‘Iron Man’ role but will act as the Fantastic Four villain’s Doctor Doom, actor informed at the Hall H of the San Diego Comic-Con 2024. The news created a wave of excitement among his fans who loved him for his lead role in Avengers series as Iron Man. 

The announcement was greeted with loud cheers and applause at the event. Additionally, social media users expressed their excitement about Downey Jr.’s return to the MCU.

Robert Downey Jr. is not the only familiar face returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe; directors Anthony and Joe Russo, known as the Russo Brothers, will also be making a comeback. They will helm the next two Avengers films – “Doomsday” and “Secret Wars.” The Russo Brothers previously directed “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame,” the latter of which concluded with the death of Downey’s character, Tony Stark/Iron Man, in 2019.

Earlier, Downey also played various roles in other movies, for example, movie lovers also liked his unique role of Spy in Sherlock Holmes and his portrayal of Dr. John Dolittle, a widowed veterinarian from Wales who possesses the unique ability to communicate with animals.
